Location for oil sending unit

Post  psfracer on 2/26/2011, 1:07 pm

Ok, so I am wiring up my gauges, where is the typical place to put the oil pressure sending unit? I see multiple locations on the A460 block, not sure which one to use.

rear of the block IMO, if you got pressure there you damn sure have it everywhere else.

Ok, so that is at the top of the block between the intake manifold and the bellhousing for the trans, right?

Here? Just making sure, this is my first 385 series motor. My experience comes from FE motors (long time ago) and more recently the modular stuff.

10-4 back door, put the pedal to the metal and let her roar! I don't know if that location has pressure the other oil tap locations damn sure do, but on our beloved factory Ford 385 Series engines, it probably one of the last places to see the black gold!

P.S. That engine bay pictured indicating the oil pressure tap, is sure clean looking!

Happy Motoring,
Dave.
