Belt Drive

Post  studly on March 3rd 2011, 11:27 am

Any body want to comment on why they think belt drives are worth the money?

i know cam timing changes are easier.

but do they help anything else?

Danny Bee you can also change the Cams without pulling the engine apart, on the Pro Comps you can not change the cams but they do let you adjust the timing.....

So the belt helps the constant beating off the lifters and smoothes out the valvetrain?

i am just asking trying to determine if i want to come off the cash for one.

I do not change cams that often, but i do change the cam timing to dial in the car on N20 just wondering if its worth the money. the car has motor plates but i guess not having to pull the dampner will be a plus.

They are worth the money for a race car, get the Danny Bee One, They are very high quality and reasonably priced.

They help seperate the Hamonics between the crank and the valvetrain

if you are planning on playing with the cam timing then that is reason enough to get one. As long as there no water pumps and crap in the way you can change the timing in like a minute.

Nobody's mentioned the fact that the belts don't stretch like even the best chains do after a while, your timing remains constant, no fluctuations.

I believe Lem was Danny Bee's very first dealer. Plus he carries in inventory a bunch of spare parts for them,,,, meaning belts, seals, extra dowel pins and so on. Very Happy
