trans help

My brother has a 1995 windstar 3.8 fwd..What would cause the trans to start slamming in gear from the 1 to 2 up shift and then again when it down shifts. it just started this over night and is full of fluid. Has been working perfect....I hate these computer trans.

(edit) now the last few days it take's 1-2 sec's when you put it drive to move.

where's all you trans guru's

i had a 95 f-150 that would slam into reverse hard and also 1-2 shift got hard too.it was the computer.i'd never guessed it but a rebuilt one fixed it.

This one go's in to reverse just fine.

and thanks for you help, were going to put a Trans Control Solenoid on it sunday and see if thats it??

Keith my 98 has the 3.8 in it my trans never gave me a min trouble until one night coming back from the track.Got off of the interstate turn and when it started off it hit the gears super hard we was only about 10 miles from the house we made it home.Short story it gave the gost up 2 days later.The trans I put in it has started to shift real hard into 2nd gear like it has a shift kit in it when it is get up to temp changes fine.But don't want to spend much on it i thinking of retiring it and let the wife drive granny's car.

Jim thats what this fills like, a shift kit turned on high. Hopefully the Control Solenoid will fix it, cause im not going to put a trans in it out in the ward on jack stands. Its been doing it for a week now and he delivers 500 news papers every night, thats a lot of stop and go
hope it lasts till Sunday.

Keith did you do anything on the van just wondering io still have my old trans might try some of the swicthes out of it on this one.
