Re: Water proofing motor
You can run a snorkel from the air cleaner through the firewall to prevent water from getting in the engine, and silicone the distributor cap base to prevent water from getting inside the dizzy, then wrap the top of the cap and wires in an old inner tube or some other water proof material to shed water. Those are the ones I've seen and they do help.

We use to ice down the beer and wrap the ice bag around the distributor.
For the carb we made a new breather top that covered the filter on the front and sides.
Also made a rubber flap that bolted to the front bumper. It hanged down to the ground and fit between the tires. When in deep mud it would fold back and cover up the area between the radiator and engine.

Re: Water proofing motor
Seal the dip sticks and run tubes from all your vents (Trans and engine breathers) to above any possible water too.
Make sure to seal all electrical connections and use a bunch of dielectric grease.

Thanks Jim...I am not in any hurry for it. I have plenty of Wal-Mart bags. Let me know what you are going to need for it.

Re: Water proofing motor
Thanks again Jim for the free boot and shipping. A couple weeks ago I did the same thing for someone...so I guess as the saying goes"what goes around comes around" is true.
The rubber boot will look way better than the plastic Wal-Mart shopping bags
