Reading spark plugs Empty Reading spark plugs

Post  hotrodbird June 15th 2011, 12:48 pm

Photos is #1 plug, 2-8 look very similar. This is a mix of 93 octane pump and 110 Rengade fuel.

How much leaner do you think I can go?

545 w/ TFS heads 12.25:1 CR 30* timing locked out. Thanks for any input!

Thanks for the replies guys. This is the stongest engine I've had in the car so far and want to get as much out of it as I can without hurting it.

color looks good for street driving, hard to get a good read on the timing mark.

I agree with Lem, need a better view from the side. From this angle the ground strap looks to be a little on the warm side.

Get a AF meter, the pump gas is almost impossible to read. The driving and Idlin around make it hard too. Make a full pass and shut it off and check them.

Thanks for the advice, I'll leave it as is, A/F monitoring guages seem to be getting more and more popular but I think a TFS Mafia intake is next on the shopping list...

i would guess you are pretty conservative at 30degrees, i would think 34 is more favorable
