we keep radials mounted on some old wheels for that very reason. Slicks on a dyno is never a good idea. I have only ever used a mustang so i was hoping you guys had an opinion.

I will check wil a buddy of mine about his dyno setup...tomorrow. He bought everything and set up a shop....but I think he may want to sell out and take off in another direction. He is very experienced in chassis dynos, and has participated in many magazine shootouts for pump gas horsepower.
I will see what he has to say....

ASSC up here uses a DYNOJET, and the math after running the car at the track says its very accurate.

thanks. I think the only problem we have seen with them is the one we went and looked at only went to 1500hp.

other than the tire deal, was the data pretty accurate compared to what the car does?

Never been fortunate enough for that to be an issue. ASSC dynos Tony Gillig's car and im pretty sure its over 1500HP.

Post  Tore August 3rd 2011, 12:32 pm

I used on this year. I use it as a tuning aid. I ate a slick last year and that hurt. I had a hi spd miss and I was able to isolate the problem and I found what it liked for timing also. I have to drive 4.5 hrs round trip to a good track and this was alot easier working on the problem right here in town.
