i have a set of p-51s, at what rpm,...? spring pressure...? do i need to worry about needing a girdle?

Typical street hydraulic Flat tappet stuff will get by without them.

But IMO all set-ups will benifit from them and yes they are worth a few HP.

"NEED" them as far as to curb potential parts breakage or "NEED" them as far as helping stabilize the valve train and allow making more power...?
Those are different levels.

well, im upsizing the cam now to about .760 lift and about 280 @ 50, and probably looking to keep redline around 7000 in order to help longevity, sooooo, sounds like i might as well plan on getting one,............

any other thoughts ??

Yep put girdles on it or get some shaft rockers.....
