Finally hit the 9's

Well made it in the 9's with a 9.984 @134.89 mph on my 3rd pass, i was waiting for the call to the tower (not licenced yet) cause my second pass even tho it was a 10.008 was a 6.35 in the 1/8th and 6.40 is the limit 6.39 u have to get the license also. Well they never called me and our track isn't easy going about that usally (got lucky) i even lost 3rd rnd (red lite) and ran 9.994 on a 10.0 dial, but all in all im thrilled i haven't been to the track since last july 15th and i never touched the car yet since i first started it to break in the cam and set the timing at 30 degrees, its got a 950 carb 80-90 jets i borrowed for break in (mine was leakin) an unported victor no spacer and a used converter i bought off the forum, so once i get the converter restalled,put on the mafia intake with the 1050 dommy and air pan,and play with timing (and 30 degrees mite be the sweet spot now) i think i'll be well in the 9's then i'm spraying the shit outta it my runs 1/4 & 1/8th in order were 10.105/6.406, 10.008/6.357 ,10.243/6.346, 9.984/6.352, 9.994/6.340, 10.004/6.356

Thanks Nick it does feel good to hit the 9's especally not tuning the car yet and i've had Lenny restall my converters before and it makes a big diffrence so i can't wait.

Yes awesome i can't wait till its all set and then blast the bottle to it, i been messing with nitrous since 99 on small blocks (bracket raced every weekend with it) for years untill about 4 years ago when i got the bbf car going and then raced that on motor, the last two years i didn't do much racing at all but i'm ready to wail on them again. It was a good two year break i think i got burned out on it i bracket raced since 96 well really heavy from 97 to 2009.

Congrats. 9's sound so much faster then 10's. I'm hoping to get there in a few weeks. I've got a 6.33 1/8 th mile but no 9 second quarter time slip yet..

X2 what Jon said. It's funny how you think if you ever get in the 9's that'll be fast enough.It wasn't Then it's the 8's NOT. And it gets worse and alot more expensive and more like work. Congrats though and have fun.

I know ya always wan't to go faster i do but i do take it slow i been in the 10's for years & now im ready for some more, my goal for this year is to hit the high 8's with the bottle of course and once its all tuned in with converter, carb and new intake i don't its gonna be a problem.

I think I'm gonna get me a speeding ticket this year. I've been running na 10.4's a mile high and 10 flats on a carefully dialed in small nos shot cuz I have no license either. I just got an enclosed trailer so I'm looking to travel a little this year. Pals say even on motor once I get down in altitude I'll get myself in trouble. Plan to go like hell to the 1/8th then ease up... last pass let her eat.

Congrats on the 9 sec pass.....You guys can call me crazy, but my first 9 sec pass meant more to me than the first 8 second pass I made..Again congrats on a mile stone...
