i have a ford ranger with 77 f150 front axle in it... i am looking at moving the track bar from its somewhat normal mounting location and moving it from the differential to the pass ratios arm bracket.. what do you guys think of that and will it work???

I had an early bronco with about the same set up, tried everything to get a better ride out of the front, what ended up working was fabing a drop down bracket and takeing all the angle out of the track bar so it was pretty much purpindicular to the axle, hope this helps

I would that taht would add alot of stress to your c-bushings and possibly push the radius arm off the bushing. Why are you wanting to move it?

the bump steering is so bad it rips the wheel right out of your hands.. this is a new build and we just raced it for the first time and this is our problem. will not go straight either. I belive its all in the track bar.

do you have a locker in the front? I have never had a trackbar in good conditon cause a truck to not go straight. If the bushing are worn or the bolt is worn on the housing it will wonder a little but those can be fixed weld the bolt in the housing and install poly bushings. A locker in the front will cause them to pull almost every time

Your bump steer is coming from the rediculous angle the track bar is currently at. As the axle cycles up and down, your shoving the whole axle one way, and quickly because of the angle of the car. As mentioned, fab up a dropped bracket from the frame to get the track bar closer to be horizontal. Think about it...if the bar is horizontal, the movement up and down, is just that, up and down with very little side to side movement. When its at the angle like you have, very little vertical movement of the axle relates to alot of side motion on the track bar. Its all about arcs/curves...
