Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Looks good. Its amazing what a good wing will do for one.[/quote]
thanks Russ! I haven't made that many passes in this car after the chassis swap but its got faster. I've found with this body style I'm running its fine up to 125-130mph. After that it gets ugly fast at the end of the track. I'm not really a fan of big wings, especially if it dont need it, but I didn't know what else to try. I guess i put it off so long because I would have to build it myself but its worth every hour i worked on it! the factory boss piece i put on front probably helped with air under the car also.

You did good work. I was involved with the early day pro mod stuff and the BIG wings back then, but that is why they went to them. A couple big end crashes loosing control on the the top end.

Lee, I used a factory type chin spoiler on my car, too...but the car is SO LOW to the ground I needed 20 ft. ramps or a helicopter to set the car on a trailer. Chin spoiler is in the garage until it becomes necessary.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Nice looking spoiler, I had the same problem going over 135 until my son built the spoiler on my car. That's in the 1/4 not the 1/8. WOW
I like that truck too. I have one like it but not a dually. Just turned 400,000 miles, but the odometer stayed at 300,000 miles.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
this one is less than 4" off the ground. I had to put a hole in the frontend for a tow hook so I can winch it in the trailer. Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
The truck looks great Jim it's a long way from the door in the shop picking colors.
Lee the wing is very cool, looks too good to paint, but I understand it has match the program...Have you placed a Go-Pro on the front of the car to see how much the front end settles, or if the Boss spoiler flexes?

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
no I don't have a go-pro to try, lol. I'm sure it does a lot of moving around because its mounted to a flimsy glass frontend.FalconEh wrote:The truck looks great Jim it's a long way from the door in the shop picking colors.

Re: What is everyone's winter plans???
Thank guys I have been trying to get it painted since the 1st of the year between my wife's sister passing in Jan., rain and bad weather, and work I finally got it. I am going to replace the driver side door it is a aftermarket door it don't seal right and has to much road noise plus some reason it looks lighter than the rest of the truck. I have decided to just replace it since it needs repainted anyhow the guy I bought it from going to trade my another ford door for it. Here is how it was when I bought the truck last Sept. I have about $5500 in it now I have put a 4'' exhaust and 3'' down pipe, ecm and idm, cold air filter system, 2 new batteries, $1100 in the body and paint with the new grill and all new lights on the outside.
Here is a pic of it when I brought it home

Nice job on both projects, jim and lee.
BTW, Lee have you weighed your spoiler-decklid setup? I still have my stock lid. You may have inspired me to use it.. Thanks.
Regards.

I haven't weighed it but it didn't add much to it. Its very worth its weight! I never figured it would help that much.72mav wrote:Nice job on both projects, jim and lee.

That should weight shouldn't be a issue. Hell, I like em with a little weight in the ass... Shouldn't hurt being on the back axle.
Cut my stock reinforcement panel out today. That alone was almost 10 pounds. I didn't weigh it, but it felt like almost ten.
