Ok so after the fastest pass at 11.90 at 119 I decided to make some changes to the car this year. Time to ditch the road race suspension, add a hotter cam, get the PI heads ported out, change intake-carb-headers, and just do a clean up on the motor.

Other goal is to get the 3440 weight with me in it and get it down to 3100lb with me in it.

Finally, the final goal is drag week 2013

ok time to tear the short block down just to check things out:

thrust bearing need to be replaced as it has started to shed but all in all, she is in great shape Now off to the machine shop for the block to get cleaned

im going to take a look at my engine to this year its been 3 years sence its been open. i'm going to try make it to drag week have gone a couple times butthe last couple year it was just to far for me go luck with the build.

Frank, how thick are your K-member spacers? It looks like your motor is sitting nice and low.

they are two pieces of 1/2 inch alum plate

stacked so i could adjust the height.


So the crank is heading to the machine shop to see if they can fix it, scored pretty bad on the thrust surface. FML!

only damage on the engine when taking it apart!

You didn't check the thrust during assembly?

I did not assemble the short block, the machine shop did.
