Kaase looking for SCJ or Boss9 block Empty Kaase looking for SCJ or Boss9 block

Post  jonkaase January 5th 2013, 6:21 pm

For this year's Engine Masters I am building a small inch Boss 429 engine. About 430". I am wanting to buy a SCJ 4 bolt block or a Boss 9 block. I can sleeve it , but it needs to be 4.400 or smaller. It can have a cylinder cracked or caved in, etc. Rod out the side, no problem. I want it because it has water between the bores, and the heat won't be a factor with thinner cylinder walls. Those long dyno pulls are brutal! I would use a 2 bolt block but I'm afraid it might crack the thinner main bulkheads with 200 dyno pulls and 750 HP. The 4 bolt blocks, and a few 2 bolts, have solid main bulkheads. I would consider a solid 2 bolt also. Of course last year I cut up a 4 bolt for a spintron testing block. (windows in the side of the cylinder for laser clearance) Also I need 2 sets of 2 bolt caps, as we bought 2 new truck blocks(1996) that are missing the caps. Anybody? .... Jon Kaase

I have a dove-a 2 bolt block, it has the boss 9 front bulk head. The bore is 30 over, one of the cyl has a crack. The block is located at 62565, I'm not sure how you would get it. Let me know if it would help.

I've got main caps from the D9 block that I trashed last year and a friend of mine has a factory bore Boss block. He is about 2 miles from me. I will email him and see if he is interested on moving some of his stuff. I dont know if you are interested in moving goods from Michigan.

PM me for your interested in the main caps.
