Just got in from the local round track..

My partner picked up where he left off last year....
Start on the pole for the heat race..... Won by 4 car lenghts..
Start the feature on the pole..... Won by about the same margin..
Not to shabby a showing from the ONLY Ford in class..

Also..this small tid-bit...

We were declared the 2012 Screven MotorSpeedway "Limited Late Model" Champions !!!
I guess 4 wins and 3 seconds in 9 races will do that...

And to think..about 5 years ago, the promoter told me I couldn't make a Ford run with those boyz......

They do and say that same shit around here. When the classes are set up, they put rules in that rule out Ford and Mopars then boast that you cant make one run with the GM.

There was a guy in Florida about 20 years ago, who spanked the late model class with monotony using a Thunderchicken and a SBF. He got sick of the bitching...so he switched combos and resumed the ass-kicking by taking advantage of a weight break. The whining got louder when they lost to a 300" six.

Spoke with Mr. Holman at Holman and Moody yesterday. This 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 has a 427 FE that makes 500 lb/ft@2500 rpm. Check out the top end speed. WOW!

Just goes to show ya, that they have NO idea what they are looking at....

This bunch changed the method of checking valve lift. They said this year it would be checked at the pushtube side of the rocker arm rather than at the valve, saying "it will give a more accurate reading" This class has a .445-.462 cam lift spec to coincide with the "602"gm that cannot be checked if it is still sealed. Factory style stamped steel rockers on stud required except Chrysler. I wont even mention different ratio rockers to them. Class this year appears to be 99% 602 gm. Exactly what we argued and fussed about not letting that engine in at the beginning. Track promoter now saying that class had turned into just another crate class during the first season. Just what we said it would.

That's what we usually try to do... BUT..............
One of the bowtie brigade was running his mouth about how bad his new motor was.
He had whole new motor and was running alky to boot..
I just told my boy to go out and whoopp that azz !!!! Don't hold back....
