DB Electric has 2 different ones for the 460. I bought the $50 something one and had some challenges with it wanting to crank my ride. It worked, but not very good. http://www.dbelectrical.com/p-1290-ford-starter-f-e-truck-van-75l-460-92-97-336-1169-sa-795.aspx

I went back and they talked me into the other one. I bought their $96 Nippondenso starter and it was like night and day. It works better than great!

I ALSO HAVE A PILE OF ABOVE MENTIONED STARTERS WHICH HAVE BROKEN. I PUT A JEGS HIGH TORQUE
STARTER ON MY 14.5 PLUS TO 1 COMP. 557 AND ITS BEEN ON FOR 2 SEASONS WITH NO PROBLEMS.
TO NOTE I TRIED TIMING RETARD WITH NO HELP, CHECKED AND SHIMMED THE STARTER FOR PROPER
DEPTH ON THE FLEX PLATE, BUT THE THING THAT WORKED THE BEST FOR ME WAS TO GET THE ENGINE
TURNING OVER WITH THE IGNITION POWER OFF, PUSH GO PEDAL DOWN QUARTER THROTTLE AND FLIP ON
THE IGNITION. IT WORKS FOR ME Very Happy

I promise you, you'll be amazed by the Meziere if you decide to spend the money on it. Its pricey but so worth it. We switched from CSR Platinum Series on our mountain motor(turning over slow), to the Meziere, and it turns it over like a street car motor. We were impressed.
