hooker 6126 headers will they fit scj heads

i have a 72 ranchero with a 532 running ported c9,s was going to put another 532 in my 71 mustang decided to leave it alone so i have some new scj aluminum heads i would like to swap in ranchero but our header choices are limited it has hooker 6126 headers in it now any know if theese headers will still work thanx chet.

It has been a while since I installed my 6126's, but IIRC the 6126 primary openings are a bit larger/taller than a std. 429-460 port. The difference was like 3/16-1/4" taller, while viewing the exhaust port and using the header bolt as a reference, the additional size of the 6126's primary tube opening over a std. 429-460 port was equally spaced above and below the header bolt. I remember having to purchase aftermarket header gaskets due to size differences between my DOVE-C's port opening and the 6126 primary tube size, also be wary of the thin margin Hooker leaves on the primary tubes for gasket seal(only 1/8" or so). BTW, I have heard/seen other options for headers to fit '72-'79 Ford/Mercury intermediates. Hedman Huslers, Ford Powertrain Applications and Crites are the ones that come to mind, sorry no part numbers. That said, the Hookers look and fit the best in my opinion.

Use Hi temp RTV instead of a gasket.

I use the percy header gaskets summit sales them they seal good
