got my front shocks for my cyclone.same as 70 torino. what is the gold bracket that comes with them for? it dont fit the bottom mounting bolts?

Duff, I just put some cheap CE shocks on my 71 Torino . They didn't come with a bracket. Since I,m running Caltracs I ordered the Calvert rear shocks but they are on back order. Since you bought the Caltracs fronts, I guess you're running their traction devices also.

guess the bracket is for mustangs and is not needed.

no i have not got that far yet. waiting on the powder coater than the front suspension will be on.
than i will move to the back and sell my like new leaf springs and get some mono leafs and the rear shocks.
i did buy some heavy duty rear shackle kit from cj pony parts with urathane bushings but had to turn them down to fit the
frame 1 inch i belive hole but the bushings got pretty beat up and tore when turning them down so ill probly have to just get some regular bushings.

still not sure if i will get the cal tacs yet. heard some guys didnt have luck with caltracs in the torino/cyclone body

bought new upper a arms and lower control arms , moog stut bushings, sway bar end links, BB front sway bar bushings 15/16 takes a moog K7096 if
using stock sway bar brackets all from rock auto. spring perches are from cj pony parts., free shipping! using original coil springs, calvert front shocks,

sway bar and brackets, shock tower tops , hood hinges, are at the powder coater. stut rods will be goin there too soon as i get a different set.
and thats where im at now.

i shoulda bought roller spring perches but that can be done down the road

Duff I have some cal tracs on my 67 comet I have had good luck with mine .I bought them used off this forum .Complete with springs and shocks .I have only made one adjustment to them .And that was to add a half turn of preload .With a good burnou they always hook!!Doug Cool

just a street car with the occasional show and mabey the track once or twice a year when its done.

i bent my left side strut when it was in the car and i pulled it to the side hard to get it out of my way. i got a another from
a friend but it was a right side.two rights dont make a left!

I need to rebuild the front suspension on my Torino too...The spring perches are shot and no telling what else is bad.

rock auto is the way to go $$ wise. or search 70 torino front suspension. there is a guy that sells new stuff in PA for 300. everything you need. also check out torinocobra.com/forum. im over there also good info there if your not there already.
