im building a sbf ranger and just picked up a c4. it has low miles and has been rebuilt with a shift kit and hd bands and clutches. the motor is a stock bore and stroke 5.0. x303 cam, balanced, rpm intake, 650 holley, ported d3 302 heads with 1.90/1.60 valves. mostly street but it will go to the strip. wondering what a good stall would be. i have a 3000 stall convertor i could use. the ranger is very lite! has 4.11 gears w/ a locker. im running a 26 x10 inch tire. thanks in advance

I would use the 3000 converter you already have. I think it will pretty close. If it's not what you like, you can use that as a good starting point. I had a setup really close to what you have years ago, I used a 3k converter in my truck. It worked great.

The last ranger I did had almost the same exact set up and we went with a 3500 9.5 PTC torque converter. One exception on motor set up it had ported E7 heads. If you were running the E or B 303 I would say run the 3000 stall or if you were going to spray it.
It should be stout and a fun truck either way ! Good luck and let us know how it runs  Very Happy
