A460 Intake Question Empty A460 Intake Question

Post  Rich Osmond April 18th 2015, 7:45 pm

Can someone tell me if I can use the older style A460 intake (lower & flatter) on new TFS A460 heads? I am working on a grudge racer and there are some visual benefits to the lower intake.

Provide it does work how much power am I leaving on the table?

Thanks

It will bolt on. The new manifold will make more power at and above 6,000 rpm.

Thanks, Lem. Is the port alignment decent or is welding needed on top of the runners so the intake can be port matched?

No welding should be required.

It you use shaft rockers, I bet a nice blue painted set of factory valve covers would fit.
Use a big factory air cleaner to cover your Dominator to further the "just an old 429" look.

Oh....and a factory Thermactor pump that is sneakily plumbed as a vacuum pump.

I ran a big block Chevy deal similar to this years ago in a very anemic small tire Nova, super quiet exhaust and would let everyone see it run mid-high 12s all night long, all the while with " will race for cash" written on the rear window. Good times!
