Ford, hydraulic roller, chevy solid roller. Heads, Intake, everything is power plus biased to have the chevy come out obvious winner, and it nearly didn't HP and torque peak higher on ford through the curve, until they starved the ford out, and gave the chevy nearly 1000 more RPM.

Hot rod magazine sponser, all chevy all the time. Let a ford builder actually put an apples to apples comparison together, and the chevy would have had tail between legs across the board.

Wasn't that unfair......

Both low compression hyd cammed pigs.......

I'd bet an eddy rpm and a little tuning on the carb & distributor would make up the difference

That was from 2009, the new guy is a Ford guy and is a little better at building power. They put a 950 on a small block Ford and it picked up power. "Lil Black and Blue".

If I remember right they took the 750 off and put the 950 on just out of curiosity and were shocked at how much it picked up without any tuning

I didn't hear the cam specs on the solid roller the put in the Chubby. Lobes are probably soft on the Ford hyd roller too.

.035 in the hole stock pistons, and 23cc dish and 76cc chamber don't get 10.5 :1 compression either.

.041 gasket I come up with about 9.1:1 compression.

Their bias towards Chevy has always been real obvious on that show. Ford had 290cc intake runners, Chevy had 320cc. Even though they said Jon Kaase spec. the cam, .685 lift with duration at 256 intake and 264 on the exhaust, but it was still a hyd. roller while the Chevy got the solid roller with who knows what numbers. They didn’t tell that part, hmmmmmmm. Chevy @ 6500 and the Ford @ 6000rpm. Anyone with some common sense and some engine knowledge it would be pretty obvious who they wanted to come out on top. So from the getgo they scripted who would come out on top, budget builds and performance builds.
