5/8" wheel studs Empty 5/8" wheel studs

Post  69F100 July 6th 2016, 11:11 am

I have had to add 1/2" spacers to keep the 31x14 from rubbing the inside. I am changing from the 1/2" studs to the 5/8" leaving at 4500 to 5000 rpm I don't want to worry about popping the 1\2" studs. I have Strange axles I have been looking at the different brands they all are in about the same price range. Just wondering which one to get and which is the best.

Your spacer deal may work out best if you use the strange kit. It is threaded all the way down and has a sleeve that screws on with a tool that comes with them. That sleeve needs to be in the area the wheel center will be to ensure a good fit. I used moser last time and they aren't made that way. Cool

Never liked the two piece Strange stud/threaded sleeve deal, sleeves kept backing off for me. If your axles have a 5/8 thread hole then a solid one piece drive stud is the way to go IMO. If it's a bracket car use the cheaper Moser stuff, or if you got big power use the pricy Mark Williams stuff.

It is a Ranger ext cab 2940 with me in it runs low 6's might go high 5's if it ever cools back off some. I haven't had it back to the track after the front end chang and went from 1050 carb to a 1800 cfm tolit. I can have the axles machined to whatever studs I go with.
