6.0 diesel Empty 6.0 diesel

I've run up on a 07 f350 srw short bed 4x4. It's been setting a few years wrecked but that part don't bother me. The 6.0 I know has issues but this one only has 63,000 miles on it. What's the fix for these things? I'm hoping the egr deleting would keep the other issues from happening? Idk $hit about them except they cost a lot if the cab has to come off! Smile

I ran an '03 F450 4x4 with a 6.0 to 234,000 miles before I sold it. It ran like a champ when I sold it. I replace one HPOP, one oil cooler and a fuel pressure sensor while I owned it. The egr delete is a MUST. As I recall, there's an aftermarket oil cooler that's a good upgrade, although my replacement was just a factory type unit. Personally, I think the 6.0 got a bad rap as a junk engine because of the woes that were caused by the smog crap. Stay on top of the maintenance and don't use it for short trips.

Btw, mine had 4.30 gears and would pull hell clean off its hinges.

I've looked around a bit at what it would be worth to part out, if it comes to that, and I don't think I could go wrong. I haven't laid eyes on it yet but if it's like he said and the pics represent ill probably buy it. I have a nice 7.3 dually but don't need that much truck for a DD anymore or even a diesel of any kind for that matter. I may sell this one when it's fixed. Laughing
