Kerry Clark aka Big Poppa
I carried Kerrys 514 4.440 bore 4.150 stroke engine to the dyno this weekend. His internet is down and he asked me to post this.
14:1 compression, A 429 pre 5000 serial number (clippers). 2.250 intake and a 1.71 exhaust. flow was around 385-390 @ .800 lift exhaust was 240@ .800
We pulled it on gas (Q-16 and Alcohol) gas was a 1250 QFX Quick Fuel, alcohol was a 2100 cfm Rons terminator. Mafia intake.
Gas peak HP was 866 @ 6200-6300-6400 and peak TQ was 771 @ 4600 34 degrees of timing.
Alk peak HP was 869 @ 6500 and peak TQ was 780 @ 5100 33 degrees of timing.
Afr on gas was 13.20-13.45 exhaust temps were 1200 - 1250.
AFR on Alky was 5.25-5.50 exhaust temps were cool around 950 - 1000.
We fattened and leaned it and added timing and took it away on alcohol but in the end it made the most power around 1000 degrees and 33 degrees of timing. went as high as 40 and it kept losing power.
Headers were dyno-tech big block Chevy's with a adapter to the ford head, 2 1/4 to 2 3/8, 32 inch long primaries with a 5 inch collector.
Makes you wonder if you can get too big a carb or too big a header on these engines. They always amaze me.

Nice numbers. That will be a killer engine. makes a lot of power in a very useable RPM.

Sounds like a very well conceived piece to me. Good job.

Pics or it didn't happen
Impressive numbers out of that small engine (By todays standards) and "Old Technology" A429s...
Can you do mine next?
