2018 F150 Auto Start/Stop Tech

Anybody deal with this BS yet? How do I eliminate it? What software can I get?

Sounds like you should have kept your other truck and put tires on it. You leasten to Lem and traded for a new one . They are a guy at work with a 18 model h hates the start stop on his.

Other models I have seen with it you turn it off in the options (ie shitbox cars in England).

Just turn it off each time you restart the Truck that's what I do with my 2017!!! Although sometimes I come to a stop and the truck shuts off oops forgot to turn it off!!!

Just turn it off each time you restart the Truck that's what I do with my 2017!!! Although sometimes I come to a stop and the truck shuts off oops forgot to turn it off!!!

I’ve been reading they have software to eliminate it, just looking to see if anyone here has tried it and it their are any issues

There is a damn button you push on the dashboard to turn it off.

Work around: I think you can plug a trailer light tester in the trailer light connector and the truck will "think" it has a trailer attached and that disables the stop/start.

You'll have to turn a key or push a button if you want to start a vehicle. You'll have to turn a knob if you want to turn the radio up or down. You'll have to flip a switch if you want the heater to blown......just warning you.

This works but if you have backup sensors it disables them which makes sense since it thinks you would have a trailer connected.

I ended up not using it and just ended up pushing the button every time I get in.

There's a video on Utube on how to jumper the button but to me it's not worth messing with.

Hopefully Fords system does not go like the GM Pass Lock and get people killed in tight spots, and bring on law suits, like Gm had. If the GM's had a start problem you only got 3 start attempts and the anti-theft system kicked in. You then had to wait about 5 min. for a reset.

If a starter is having problems, and you stalled on the Fwy. for some reason, and needed immediate restart, would be my biggest fear.

Almost lost a close family member to a deal like that. Think stall right before rush hour, big city Fwy., bottom of overpass, 70 plus Mph traffic, centerish lane, still dark, no restart on a stall. If it was not for a Safety Clear truck near by and a good 911 operator, who knows how it would of went down.

If you had to push the button to enable the system and it stayed off automaticity  it would make a lot more sense to me.

Better yet scap it before it causes problems or deaths.
