598 Thor heads with twins
Just ordered the top end this morning.
Planning twin 88s or 94s.
Fuel Tech FI.
C&C aluminum block. C&C Pro 18 heads(Thors), WW rockers, Bryant crank, etc…
Roger Szabo at Kaase’s will be helping me with it. We’re going to improve on the 598 that was in his son’s car.
That car ran low 4’s. Hope to do a little better. It was a C head with 88’s.
Bucket list item. 200+ in the 1/4. Close to 200 in the 1/8. Start testing next season. 4.50s/7.50s next year and then wick it up.
Will start with a Merkl C6. All Ford until I can’t.
Plan to run Dragweek 2022. Pro Street PA and Unlimited.

Tell Roger i was sorry to hear of the passing of Keith!!I remember them at Norwalk NMCA race back in the mid 90's when Keith had the 82 Mustang GT with a 351 Windsor and Nitrous running mid 9's IIRC and dragging the rear bumper!!Good luck with this engine and Turbos sounds like it should fly!!

Sounds awesome!
What are they estimating the Pro18's would be over a C head power wise?

Re: 598 Thor heads with twins
Guess? Maybe 1-200hp with same amount of boost. The gen II Thor’s could make 100hp more than a C NA. Really hard to say. Spoke with Jose at Forced Inductions. Their own 94 or 98s will hit 3500-4000 on a 600” no problem around 82-8300rpm. Roger says they were at least 3k with under 40#. He said 150 passes between maintenance. Just oil, filters and lash. You can run easier cam profiles and less rocker arm ratio with big turbos. Easier on parts.

Drop the parts off tomorrow at the machine shop. Been waiting a bit for Kaase to source everything for it. Have everything but the dry sump system. Should have that in the next couple of weeks. Also, had to look for the right folks to to do the hoops for the block and heads and the big key way lifters. Ready to roll now. Still trying to find a shop that can take the car to a 6.00 25.1/25.2 cert. Any recommendations? Planning Sickweek next year. Got in for Dragweek this year.

We will be testing in March. Made it to Sickweek but weren’t able to continue after the first day. We will be at SickSummer and Summit Midwest Drags this summer. Will post some times after we test next month.

Re: 598 Thor heads with twins
We did a base tune at about 7# and it was 900WHP. We will end up between 25-30# to do what we need. It should make 2000WHP easy. Limit is probably 3000WHP. Car is only 7.50/4.50 cert. right now so no need to lean on it.

Re: 598 Thor heads with twins
The car is driven on pump gas and we have a dual fuel system with an electric pump and tank in the back for pump gas and a mechanical pump and meth tank in the front. When the car sees about 1# of boost it seemlessly switches over to meth. My tuner worked with AFIS(injection) and Haltech to get the transition right. It’s perfect. We did the CB seats and inconel exhaust valves. Stainless intake valves. We won’t turn the engine higher than 7500. In your application, I would probably stick with SS valves and standard seats unless your very high rpm(8500+). Give Kaase a call and speak with him or Roger Szabo. They spec’d my engine for my application.

the heads are at kaases right now.the only reason i was going with ti intake valves is they are 2.500 in dia,so i thought it would help .with spring life.
