429 in foxbody
I'm looking to install my 429 in my 89 Foxbody I bought the jegs conversion kit with the Hooker Headers oil pan and motor mounts. The Mustang I have came with a K member but for a small block Ford. What K member do I need to install the 429. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: 429 in foxbody
IIRC that V-8 K-Member should work with the Conversion Kit!!

Never heard of them [who]?You said you have a K-Member for a Small Block Ford so that would be a V-8 FWIW i'm using the original 4 cylinder K-Member in my 89 Mustang and i'm using the Accufab 460 Swap Motor Mounts!!If you have an aftermarket SBF K-Member not sure if Jegs swap conversion mounts will work but i'm pretty sure they will with the factory Ford V-8 5.0 K-Member!!

It sounds like you bought the Fox Body 460 Swap Hooker Conversion Kit From Jegs?

Re: 429 in foxbody
The k member l have in my foxbody now the BBF won't fit l have header issues the oil pan hits the k member. I didn't know that different k members fit only certain motors. This k member wint accept the 429.

I tried those Hooker Headers on my Mustang last year couldn't get them to fit took them back to Summit Racing had my MAC Headers[MAC no longer makes them] blasted and repainted them!! i'm going to bump a thread TTT for you in the Engine tech section about the Hooker Headers and Motor Mounts!!

Use the kit from "Total Performance" in Michigan which uses a front motor plate and Mad Dog" headers. Stock K member with 1" spacers.
Re: 429 in foxbody
I have installed them in 4cly cars with stock k menber. theres grinding to do on all of the stock members most of the time, rem the eng sits toward the pass side, not in the center

Hawaii,
I've used this install kit; had to make some tweaks with the headers but no major difficulties: http://ddautospec.com/products_engineswap.html
The tweaks consisted of notching a few of the primaries to accommodate the steering shaft. And, oh, yes, had to shorten the collectors, get rid of the three-bolt flanges and install V-band clamps to get enough clearance at that point.
It's in a 1981 Mercury Zephyr wagon (same as any Fox except longer wheelbase and yellow LOL); it uses a 1995 Fox Mustang V8 #2 crossmember.
16K street and track miles, no problems with that, yet...
Except once I forgot to check the motor mounts, a couple of bolts fell out. A day in the shop fixed that and all is OK since I put that item on my checklist.
