^Odd. Both lobes on #1 as well as bearing wear at that area. I would double check everything very carefully, including the valve guides and lifter bores on the failed lobes. Sounds like something else going on besides low Zink oil.

Cam break in service. They offer sell quality lifters as well.

Sometimes it's the lifters that are junk

Make sure the lifter bores are not damaged or too loose/tight

I have purchased 2 cam/lifter kits from Cam Research including his break in service on both and a buddy sent an Isky cam/lifters to him to be broken in. All 3 were solids and the initial starts were with the heavy valve springs installed. No problems. My current cam is in a street engine that, unfortunately, spends most of it's time under 2000 rpm city cruising with lots of idling in traffic. Three summers, over 10,000 miles and all's good. After the first couple break-in lashings I set them in the spring and they're good for the season. This spring they almost could have gone without adjustment so I'm pretty happy. He recommends Valvoline VR-1 20W-50 only and that's all I've run. The oil/filter/magnetic drain plug are still free of any sparkly bits.
