You can do a lot with SBF's even Old School ones with a turbo/turbos.
Aftermarket block of course.

A little more on the one from the OP car, and some engine detail. Good Stuff!

Re: we are playing with dinosaurs!
This may be True but without a turbo that engine is the most gutless POS on this earth, a Briggs and Stratton 1 lunger has almost as much power as that POS and gets better gas mileage.

gutless? 1.49 hp per cubic inch bone stock mustang gt engine ! or 1.517 hp per cu inch, for a stock 5.2 engine in the gt 350 .they are the most powerfull engines ford ever put in a car for sale! also theres on on you tube that makes 850 hp na!so when you can take a sleeved stock block with ported stock heads and run 6.50 in the 1/4 and dive 200 miles to the next track,i dont see a lot of the smx billet engines completeing that! of course there is a price to pay for any new tech.
dont get me wrong,i still love all sbf and big block ford and boss stuff, but its something to think about!
AND UP YOURS YOU CHEVY LS LOVER!

I'm not going to knock the 5.0's they have come a long way.
I would like to see someone take this old ride up to modern standards ( and convert it to street ) with an A460 Block and some SR-71 heads and compare price and times though.

Dinosaur, sure just like a BBC or Hemi. More HP per Dollar I think the Cubes will Rule.
Here's the 5.0 teardown video, I believe of the Green Mustang.

^ I think that was the last big race at BayTown before they tore down our track.

Yea this push rod piece of shit mini truck is stupid fast too. It's carrying a 100 more cubes though then the 5.0. 241MPH ( I think the Link is full of shit or made a typo, because they are dyslexic chebby fruits, it was 214.416 MPH ) with a Small block on the Street. Just Crazy what these Turbo's Do with the new small block engine platforms.

^ X275 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on the 5.0 and a Claimed Stock Suspension. ^ 6.524 at 212MPH!

^ Yea, That's when they try to put that Billet Junk on the Street. In Race Trim they go 221 MPH in half the Distance, with the same or more weight ie 1/8 Mile and in the 3.50's now. Totally Different Animals. I don't bother to put a Logo on them either. The only thing they might share with Factory engines is the Bore Spacing.
