That's a bargain for that engine are the Pistons Flat Tops?

Re: 502 BBF
The pistons are custom Venolia forgings. Small dome (~0.060" high I recall)

Re: 502 BBF
4.39" bore 4.15" stroke 72cc head, .041"/4.5" head gasket straight flattop no valve relief or dome, .000 deck comes to 13.45/1. Just saying. Mid 14.42/1 with 6cc Dome.
That is a very nice engine. ABlock with Boss bulkhead to boot. Great Price.

You should check the pallet shipping. If everything is in order it might be worth it?
Just the top end is worth 3-3,5 w/o rockers. The T&D shaft rockers add big coin to the package. Probably over 2 grand.

Re: 502 BBF
The pistons had intake and a small exhaust relief.
Plenty of clearance measured with the 0.780" cam.
Putting the original 390 engine back in - 500 hp build.
The 502 was way, way too much for a street driven car (and 5200 stall converter)
Ran on 108 octane fuel - <20 liters per year. Maybe 10 to 15 miles per year.

Re: 502 BBF
^ I did not mean anything about valve to piston clearance.
Glad you brought up the 2 valve relief's though.
I was just pointing out that the stroker crank and 72cc heads raises the compression some over what may be listed sometimes from the manufacturer, is all.
6cc worth of valve relief's on a flat top comes out at 12.61/1 with no pop up.
If the pop up cancels out the valve relief's, to 0cc's, it will be at 13.45/1. If they don't it will be higher.
Whatever the compression is in the above ranges, if those heads are flowing good, I can see it making a lot or HP with those cams and a great, Deal in 2023 Dollars, especially with a $500 dollar roller cam thrown in.

Re: 502 BBF
With the 75 cc chamber and 0.010" deck height the CR is around 12.68 (assuming the small dome cancelled out the valve relief cc's.
I looked up the flow testing:
Head flow (int/exh) :
.2 152/117
.3 237/160
.4 296/200
.5 325/224
.6 358/244
.7 374/257
.8 388/261

Re: 502 BBF
^12.68/1 on the money with those numbers, true. That's some nice flow numbers for the CobraJets. Likely in the 800 to 840HP range I bet.

Excellent deal. I sitting here talking myself out of a road trip for an engine I don’t need.
