Piston choice for 598
G'day guys,
Time for an engine rebuild and want to step up a bit from the 572ci combo I have at the moment to 598ci.
A460 block currently 4.500
Scat forged crank
6.8 Eagle rods
Blue Thunder B heads
I've had a bit of a look in Diamonds catalogue and there doesn't appear to be a spec piston to suit, would appreciate any suggestions on where to look for piston choice or is a custom piston the most appropriate choice?
Thanks.

Re: Piston choice for 598
Isn’t the Blue Thunder B a standard CJ type valve layout piston?
What about Icon, Mahle, JE?

Looks like the Mahle Book Slugs stop at 4.5/6.7".
Might Give Them a Shout and see if The can Cut you a set for the 598.

Buy a custom set of pistons and be done with it...

^ What Randy Said.
I saw These for C-Heads Floating around, for what seems like Over a Year.
I Don't Know if It is a Good Idea to Add Valve Notch's or if They are Workable for Your Deal.
I Bet You Could Get Them for much Less Then Asking or Custom Pistons Though?

Just Passing It on as a Possible Option.
As Always: Not Mine and Buy at Your Own Risk.

Re: Piston choice for 598
In the 1970's, custom pistons cost around $850.00 ... NOW custom pistons can be had for about $950.00; and they are much better quality today.
Nothing in this industry has increased in price so little in over those 50 years.

Call CP and get changes made to a shelf, (catalog), piston to make them customized.
Other piston companies will do the same thing.
