Question on Triton V10 Empty Question on Triton V10

Post  torkair February 28th 2010, 6:45 pm

I'm hoping some of you guys have had a chance to work on one of these motors and can offer some information. I am wanting to swap one of the 3v Tritons into one of my 72 Gran Torinos (or possibly the Ranchero). If possible I'd like to see a comparison between the engine mounts of the V10 and a 460 and possibly mount locations on the two different blocks. I know the Triton isnt the most hard core of engine swaps, but you've got to admit it is a cool motor!

Mmmmmm, ok Twisted Evil . So the R&D department gets a wild hair up their hind quarters and makes something like that huh? Perhaps there's a crate equivalent of this motor as it would save me the trouble of pulling one of the iron ones out of a wrecked truck.

Edit: IIRC someone was making a twin screw super charger for the Triton V10, but I've only heard of it in passing and nothing more.

Oh do i remember that car, oh wait I still get to drive it around Mi. It's a low (short deck V-10) making it 351 cubes. Becasue it was a MOD engine, all internals were stuff in production.! Bill Ford drove this thing and loved it, don't know why they made the 6.2L when we had this bad boy! Only thing they did to the car was move the radiator forward...

Question on Triton V10 Empty V-10 info

Ford makes a supercharged version of the v10 for buses running hydrogen fuel . Seen a factory tech article on it. We have the v10 in our fleet where I work, averages about 5-6 mpg in a 3/4 utility bed truck.

I believe it was NOVI who made them.
JBA also made headers for them....at least for a while.
