any good carb guys on here

i have a davinci spider carb 1400cfm i was going to try. bolted it on and the motor won't even run it'll start but i have to pump the shit out of it to keep running then finnally just die's after about 30 seconds?? thanks

The first thing I would do would probably be take off the bowls and have a look. Who knows, it may have been allowed to sit with old gas inside and it's full of crud in the metering blocks etc. Sure sounds like it anyway. That's that deal with 8 feeds for the fuel whereby you can control the mixture distribution of the carburetor more effectively when using it in a single carburetor application. I'd say that idea might work in some situations. Similar to this deal from C and S:
