How do you slow .......

life down .... i mean holy cow its been 1 year already since we moved back to bama and it just seems like yesterday .... life is hauling azz lately .... how do you guys slow it down

Weeeeed maaaaaaan I don't touch the stuff nor will I ever, Just like to make fun of the stoners. But life seems to be going by really fast to me too, I want to get out of school and grow up and what not. But I'm a kid, I like being a kid. Not having to work, pay bills, feels like 5th grade was just yesterday Man time flies by, but I know I'll be the last man standing in the BBF Brotherhood

Truer words have never been spoken. It's the world we live in Nick. We just keep packing more activities in every year. Not sure what the answer is, I just know there aren't enough hours in a day!

It makes me want to stop wasting time and do something, too bad it costs $$$ to get parts to do something. I wish I could freeze time right now and just live forever.

Funny you post this, on the way home from Cole's soccer practice I told my wife I needed a tv remote to control time ( push pause)

dragracing ( best of all)
school
oh yea work !
time is in fast forward.

You don't slow it down, however you need to appreciate and enjoy every moment to it's fullest. Also, in order to keep up with it, you need to work harder, work smarter and faster. No rest for the wicked!

i'm at that point in my life too.i want to do so much i cant make enough time in the day for it all.when i do get started at it i'm ready NOW,i need it NOW! just ask Blake,i bet he's called me a few names,my wife does i know.

It also seems like the older I get,the harder I work for some reason. LiL Tweety has put me behind 1.5yrs.

I have pondered the same thing.
I have decided to make everything fun.
If it sucks...make if fun...some way. Dan-O can tell you....we broke a torque converter on a 100 degree day, had a blast changing the thing. We made it fun!

Enjoy all of the little things.....the smell of methanol exhaust.....a face full of nitro exhaust every now and then...the sound of a big Ford engine in high gear...or on the dyno...the questions and observations of children...grandchildren...or..anyone.
Stuff like the way a puddle of molten metal looks as you weld.....the sound of the pull tab on a can of Blue Ribbon....sitting around the track and telling stories with other racers.

I recall an old John Mellencamp (Johhny Cougar) song..Minutes to Memories. Look up the lyrics to that one.

Keith,You and I think alot alike. Guy's at work have ask me for years how I always got the good jobs,and I always replied,no one has ever given me a good job,I make my jobs ALL good jobs. Life is too short ,have all the fun while you still can

I always try to have a good time...sometimes it works and sometimes ....well like Keith said, we changed his convertor, fixed his clutch on his golf cart on the hottest day of that year!! And still had a total blast. I still laugh to myself everytime I think of all the funny things I've done with my great friends over the years.I'm slowin down,and not by choice.....tooo much fun I guess over the years. But one thing is for sure , I don't want to wake up someday and think to myself...Damn ,I wish I'd have done this or that. I do pretty much what "I" want to do. Sure is hard on relationships with women, but I enjoy getting my buddies in trouble Now ,if i can just go 200MPH in the 1/4 before I die life will be complete

200mph Nooooo Problem Dano......... I got this friend, who knows some other guys cousin, that has this way cool rocket booster he might let us borrow.....

Ferris Bueller's remedy would be to jack the car up and run it in reverse. Maybe the same would work if we walked backwards on a treadmill?? Seems to me kids make the time go even faster. My youngest started school this year, makes me feel old!! They'll be driving before I know it

Well said Dave, that is why I don't quit.

Well, to be truthful I've HAD to slow down.

Doing things as fast as I used to do surely requires a longer rest period which then seems like the world is blowing past while waiting for the renewed energy to go fast again...
Just go a LITTLE slower but, more continuous and it definately seems to help.

Remember the old story of the "Tortoise and the Hare"...

I noticed when I started paying bills that life went faster over night... because I didn't wanna see those bills ever again, but they just keep coming every 30 days... ALL OF THEM!!!!!... you cant stop time, so enjoy what you will miss the most in the end...YOUR KIDS, and family... oh and eat good, every night at the table with your family if you can, stuff like that is so taken for granted it isn't funny... I would not trade my kids for millions, so why waste the time I can, and do have with them chasing thousands...get that jr. dragster...best of both worlds....

Nick as has been said the older you get the faster time goes by.You think time flying now just wait until like the old saying goes WHEN YOU HIT 40 it really starts picking up plus all the little pains start turning into bigger pains and more often.Here in a few months I will be 44 and it was just last year I turned 40 I thought lol .But like has been said spend as much time with your children they grow up over night it seams and believe me it seams like over night my 2 are 24 and 22 it was yesterday the where born it feels like.
