Finally no f'in 115* high temp bullshit, air was pretty cool and track temps were a lot better.

First pass was n/a, new tires so i burned um in pretty good, I tried 9 psi and they bounce too bad at the hit, that and it swayed terrible to the point I had to lift a few times...............still went a 5.68 at 117.

2nd pass we stuck 44#'s in the trunk, aired the tires up to 10psi, put the non-man shot to it with a .3 delay
like a 1.27 60', 5.45 @ 128.60, still had some sway but I drove through it.

next pass i put the "150" tune up in it, put the tires up to 11psi, took all the delay out, its never been clean on this tune, Its pretty fat, I had to lift just a tad down toward the end but still got the elusive 5.39 slip.............1.241 60', snake aint the only wheel carrier anymore............ cheers Wink I didn't make another hit as the dew was coming in strong and we finally got the car headed in the right direction. My R/T is finally back in the 0-teens. No W's and no bars............ Razz I'll get a jet or two and see if I can get some more out of this tuneup.

Tires worked great Lem, you'll also be getting a call from a guy I talked with for a good hour, he has a P51 headed fox, he is not happy with the performance out of it, pretty sure he's gonna want a Mafia intake and maybe a cam here soon..................and Charlie will be getting a call about some port work i'm sure lol

do you know the exact amount of time your car is spending in low gear it just seems to be in low gear a long time to me hard to tell from photobucket videos they are so choppy and stuff.

mph was like 129 and change, its hard to hear put I let off the throttle just a hair toward the end, not much but just enough to scrub a little mph off the top.

I'll look at the logger KY, if anything the converter is still too loose, and its got the hyd oil in it now lol.

the ladder bars are fine, although I will be putting a much stiffer set under it this winter along with stiffer axles.

few numbers on the last run.............

converter flash 6100
7300 shift rpm
fall back rpm on the shift 6000, approx 1300
trap rpm 7150

approx 2.2 sec after tb release to the gear change.

The last hygard swap really seemed to snug it up to where it needs to be.

Jon,

Those stats sound good to me. Many of the engines that we dyno around here have a torque peak at 6100 rpm and then a Hp peak around 7200 rpm, so imo the convertor is in the sweet spot. Our shift point is right around 2.0 seconds (timer) so like Randy said, you may want to see what shortening up the shift does for you.
I am surprised at the amount of tire pressure you're running. Want does it do when you drop down in pressure?

When I said shift time I was thinking converter seemed tight , and what I seen tonight with this 5600 converter mine is acting like Blakes and Dans the mph is way down and not near as much off on the 60' time. That is kinda backwards from what you would think but its hard to argue with a time slip.

I do think a shift fall back from 7300 to 6100 is too much especially if you are spraying.

Charlie, the first pass I ran the tire pressure at 9 psi and had to peddle it twice on a 68 pass it swayed terrible. These are a regular sidewall but with tubes. some of it is I just have a 12" wide rim and the tires are 13", I'll fix that issue this winter though............ Wink

Honestly I feel the rpm drop and converter is just right, all the numbers I've had from earlier runs showed it to be much looser, but the damn constant tire spin had the data all jacked up. This converter the higher you spin it the more it locks up, if you twist it 7600 it will fall back to the same rpm if you shift it at 6800. This "150" tuneup NX claims is just a hair better than the "100", I dont feel the alky enriched tuneups are on par with the claimed hp rating. The 150 is not near as clean and only gains 1 mph, I'll get a couple jets and mess with it some. This winter it will be enriched with gas.

I'll also note there is zero tire shake, I'm sure the cooler track temps helped considerably but I never had the shake problem until I put the Hoosiers on it.

You can here just a hint of spin at the gear change, this seems to be where the car wants to sway around some. TVRP has a small bump out there about this point and could also be whats upsetting the car, upping the pressure seemed to cure it just a tad. I never ran the left lane due to everyone was having a lot of trouble getting down it. This was just a reg friday night T n T.

Our last KOV race is the 14th, I'm tied for the points lead with one other guy one round behind, I think I have enough progress made to go to it feeling a little more confident with my program lol.

That data I gave was incorrect, my logger is giving me fits the numbers I gave are off of the unit manually, I finally got it to download and those numbers look better.

flash to 6438
shift at 7268
drops to 6071 then a quick spike to 6535.......not sure if thats just the tuneup so fat and the gear drop makes it worse due to the higher pump speed on the mech alky injection.........either way the drop is not near 1300 like I thought.

They need to be in the 1180-1190 range on the spray, 1 and 8 always seem to run hotter on the hose I assume its a manifold dist problem, off the stuff its pretty balanced. This is with NX's tuneup, 70n 73f @ 8.5 psi. I need to drop some more fuel press or plat with the jets. Hell they may be like the Ron's stuff and so far out of wack there is no telling lol. I even though of swapping them around and see what that does. Also using NX's recommended 1050psi bottle pressure.

i know you are using alky as fuel enric., but who did you talk to about the tune up ???? seems way too fat ..... i would swap around the jets first ....on that nos jet you should pick up 6mph atleast

Its the tune NX gives with the kit. I got no response from NX but I'll see what James Monroe says he's been down this road.

a side note, the "100" tuneup is a 57n 63f and is a lot cleaner than this one, it could be a pill problem, I hear the NX pills are a mass produced deal, not flowed etc like IS 's stuff.
