Larry don't know if your rear doors are set up like my 2000 ranger was it had the power locks but the rear doors did not have any kind of lock in them when i stripped them down.

Larry mine has a 2 cables that runs from the door handle to both the latches one to the top and one to the bottom. It will be a pain to work on for sure without opening the door to get the panel off.

Re: 99 f250 door opening problem
Larry, I have a 2002 F-350 extended cab short box, and tried the back doors after pushing the lock & un-lock button, and it made no difference. It appears the locks only affect the front doors. Maybe your rear door linkage gave up somehow..
Hope this helps

the front doors have nothing to do with the rear,as far as locking or latching the rear doors. you may have a broken handle or the rods/cables may be loose.it's been a while but i think those doors have rods to the upper and lower latch.when you pull the handle, shake the door hard and it may open,i'v done it before.good luck
