Valve bowl pocket dia Empty Valve bowl pocket dia

Whats common for a CJ 2.25 & 1.75 valve?, bowl diameters, that is?
Also whats a good reliable valve job spec for a steel heads?

The one's I've done, I just do a nice clean-up in the intake bowl and try not enlarge it anymore than the clean-up allows... On the exhaust side, I do all of them around 82% of the valve diameter, unless it's for a N2O app, then I've taken them to 85% and they seem to work very well... The exhaust lost a little bit of flow, but on the track it picked up some over the smaller bowl when used with N2O... Just my experience...

It all depends upon HOW you are gonna use 'em. Everything has it's limits, one way or the other.
2.06" on the intake is a good bowl dimension for a 2.250" valve when used on a race engine but, a little to large for a lower RPM or street driven vehicle.

For a 1.75" exhaust valve, the normal size is 1.50" to 1.54" for a closed exhaust and 1.60" for an open exhaust; (bigger for supercharged, nitrous or high RPM engines).
