Flex plate bolts backed out again...............
I backed the car out of the trailer, (hadn't been out since the US-43 race) to give it a once over before heading to Eric's race. Found a slick with a hole in it and my flex plate bolts backed out again.
I put new ARP bolts in it last time and torqued it to ARP's specs and then put red lock tite on the bolts. The holes may have been slightly egg shaped and caused this to happen again.
I have a new JW Wheel in the shop of a buddy of mine. I am putting it on tomorrow night with a new set of ARP bolts and ordering something better later to put on it when I get back from the race this weekend.

How about safety wiring the flexplate bolts?

Vibration? Check the runout on the crank flange?

Going to tomorrow night, I think when it did it last time with the stock bolts it egg shaped the holes some.

The front seal in the trans went out at my race I don't know if he has fixed it yet or not. Coon ran it out the back door on the last pass he made and it was really hauling the mail. I think he was on the rev limiter about the 1000' line and still went in the 8's.

Re: New bullet 1003 hp 810 tq P51
Sorry guys being so long on getting back. I have been busy porting heads and building engines. I am carrying a 472, dome piston, cast iron SCJ headed, roller cam engine to the dyno today.
I put a set of 14x32 Goodyear's on my car for the for the Ford race at us 43. I sprayed it also. The car ran the same number on E.T. that it always had, but the mph was around 133 mph.
I couldn't hook the car, 60 foots were off a half a second to 1.2 seconds depending on what lane I was in. 60 ft was the same if I sprayed out of the hole or ran on the motor only............ I was spraying a 200 shot with 40% out of the hole and ramping it to 100% in 1.5 seconds. Any later and it would spin down track. I didn't get a chance to try it any earlier.
My car is 63% front weight and 37% rear. With the added power it was spinning the tires every pass right before the stripe. I had to lift it got so bad a couple of times. Several of the guys at the track said it was sideways bad.
If I continue to run it on the hose I am going to add weight to the rear.
Also the change from 13.5x29.5 tire to the 14x32 has killed my gearing. Before If I left over 3200 on a good track it would stand straight up. I figured (although wrong) I could just leave at a higher rpm and maintain or better my 60 ft times. I have ran it a couple of time since the 43 race and my best 60 t has been a 1.25, it used to do .21's and .22's anywhere, and at a good track flat .20's with the back tire.
At Eric's race I had two problems, one was the I thought a front seal leak and two was a high rpm miss. I replaced the pump seal three time and it still poured oil out the front. I thought we saw a crack in the converter, but I put air pressure to it and couldn't get it to leak. So I sent the trans and pump to PTC to let them check it over (they built the trans) Ed at PTC said the ultra bell was contacting the ultra case before it touched the front pump and wasn't tightening the the pump gasket enough and it was leaking there. Ed milled the bell and put it back together and sent it back. They didn't check the converter.............
When I got it back in the car, it didn't change a thing , still poured oil out. I called and asked if the checked the converter and they said no , so I sent it back down again, and the couldn't get it to leak, My friend Steve carried it down for me and he pointed out the place we thought it was cracked. Kenny then bead blasted it and tig welded the spot up and washed and cleaned it , added paint and sent it back.
I put it back in the car and now it is dry as a powder house. Don't have a clue what actually fixed the problem, because when they pressure tested it every one there was getting back afraid it was gong to burst they had so much pressure on it. lol
I carried it to the track and the miss went from high speed, to my electric shift solenoid not holding, to losing all power. My buds Don and Matthew found the problem while I was in Springfield Mo. this week for work. They found a bad connection in my control panel, all seems well now. I hope to go to the track Sunday. I am going to leave WFO and if the 60's don't fall in line the 13.5x29.5's are going back on. I may have a set of low passes set of 14x32's for sale.
The fly wheel bolt issue seems to have been corrected, new flywheel and bolts.
If I can get my 60's back, I am going to give the Caped Crusader (HeRo) a run for his money..............

Re: New bullet 1003 hp 810 tq P51
I got back to the track today, very few cars there. I made three passes and was going to make a n02 pass and found a converter bolt out and one loose.
Loaded up and headed home. I probably should have gone to a six bolt converter when I had it out with the leak. I think 3 7/16 bolts may not be enough to hold a 1000 + hp
Anyway it went a 1.18 60 ft today and a 5.44 E.T. back on my 29.5 x 13.5 Mickey's. First pass was a almost bumper scraper. tightened the shocks in front and kept the nose down and raised the leave rpm and went the 1.18 the next pass front wheels about two ft high.
I have a good set of Goodyear 14 x 32 slicks for sale. I am not changing gears in my car to make them work.

I'm thinking you have some vibration, something bent or misalignment going on Blake. It shouldn't doing that.
