so when your breaking in a hydrolic cam that is new... should you warm the engine up first or start it, set timing and 2000rpm for 20min....????
i've broke in a few motors but never reall thought about this... what do you think???

The main reason for needing 2,000 or more RPM for breaking-in a flat tappet camshaft is so the oil pressure will be up cinsiderably and the "splash" from the crankcase will help lubricate the cam lobe / lifter face junction.

my question is do you break it in right away or do you warm up the motor first??

Done!! everything went well , motor got a little hot during breaking.. 230ish during the last 4 min....

normal?

a little extra heat is normal, just make sure you dont have thermostat issues or lack of radiator cooling capabilities
