Lima...385....Africa....Small World

Well, don't know if this is cool or not...but I thought so.

I work in West Africa...yes, somewhere you've never heard of. Well, I'm eating lunch with a group of people and a guy that works in my "office" and we're shooting the poo about what he used to do before working for the G... he says he worked at Ford but was recently laid off. Of course, that got me interested. So, I commence asking questions about where/what/how. Turns out, he worked at the Lima Engine Plant for like 20 years and used to make one of 4 Ford engines...including the Lima 385 series. Told him I was a thorough Ford guy...and he says he was too, well used to be until he got laid off...ha! He was kind of surprised I knew quite a bit about them...especially since they don't make them anymore. He's my new best bud!

He also schooled me...I always thought it was LEE-muh... no, it's LIE-muh (like the bean)

What was the mans name?
I'm from Lima also maybe I know him.
My dad retired from Ford about 5 years ago I believe. He also was one of them that helped build
the 385. He mostly ran crank machines I think.
