factory hp rating Empty factory hp rating

the factory hp on my motor says 360 hp 480 tq from ford...now is that very accurate or way off, motor is a 1969 429 4 barrel

shouldn't be off over 20 to 30 hp

It is my understanding that the 1969 engines have closer to 325 real world horspower, as opposed to the factory rated hp claim.

even 325 is not bad for a 42 year motor....swapping in a voodoo cam..and a rpm intake..headers...going in my cheap my bracket car

If you have the opportunity to dis-assemble a factory assembled (for the masses) Ford engine and note the specifications, it becomes all to apparent why the engines don't produce the advertised power. Although I don't think the problem of assembly is as obvious today!

i tore it down today, has c9 heads, and true flat top pistons...clean as can b inside
