Bash Blab and Hillbilly Review
I was so excited and cranked up after getting home form the Bash, I parked the trailer...and went straight to the shop to mock-up a customers new 605 A head mill. All of the cool cars and beautiful BBFs just got me in the mood.
Considering that the Windy Hollow facility had not been in operation this year until we invaded it, I think that the team there did a pretty good job of getting everything ready for us. For sure, the BBF clan had the run of the place.
It was great to see more new faces from the Forum and watch their cars haul down the track. We even had several Forum members traveling in from far away just to hang out and visit. One example was mud racing icon "Critter" and his main squeeze that drove half way across the country just to meet everyone. I learned a lot about the mud racing world by hangin' with the Critter.
All of the cars were awsome, and I can't even try to talk about each one. My head is still spinning......much like the small bird that flew in to the hood and windshield of the '58 at about 116 MPH in round one of the Gamblers race. (It was ugly....)
Thanks to all of the folks that stopped by the Keith Fulp Motorsports Hospitality Suite to check out my parts and pieces that I brought to show off. I learn a lot about how to make my parts better by the conversations that we have. The canopy was small, but was pretty good in the rain!
Too bad that the '58 got shut off on the starting line in Round 3 for a water leak. I was just beginng to have fun. The leak was a quick coupler on an experimental transmission chiller system that is on the '58. I "saved" money by buying a cheap coupler.
(Yeah...Right....) I am glad the starter noticed the coupler dribbling water...it could have made for a wild ride when my rear tire went through it!
Bottom line...I had a great time...broke no parts...drank up some of my pal's refreshments...and even scored some free food!
Hope to see Y'all next year.

Re: Bash Blab and Hillbilly Review
Hey...it was "diet" ice cream, since I used skim milk in it.
Lem...I thought about cooling the trans with ice cream, but if it leaked on the starting line....it would make the car go faster. Like traction compound! It would break out on the dial....
Thanks!
Keith
