MPG on F150

Looking at a '90 F150 Super cab, lwb with a factory efi 351. It has dual exh as the only modification that I know of. Looks to be E4OD trans. I had a 88 F150 with 302, 5 speed and it only got 13-14 mpg. hwy. The old 454 3/4 ton surburban I have now gets 13.4 running 55-60.

Any of you had or know someone who has something like this truck that can give truthful mpg figures?

i had a 95 swb 351 auto and it had 2 gas tanks for a reason! after i got my 02 lightning i checked it and @ 16mpg it was a dream compared to the 95.

Thats what I'm afraid of! I knew if I got any comments here it might not be what I want to hear but would be real world numbers.

An honest 10-12mpg is about as good as it will get, in like new tune. The 351 wasn't known for great mileage, especially if you add the weight of a longbox ex/cab into the equation.
