After fixing the C-4 last week and putting it back in the car after first pass Sunday it blew trans. fluid everywhere! Pouring out the front. Found a glide on racingjunk with JW bell and case 1.80 straight cut gears turbo input, rollerized tailshaft, protree brake and 8" converter that was behind a 604 A-head engine in a 83 foxbody. Roadtrip Friday to go pick it up. Hoping I don't need to restall but if so Lenny is the man! Gonna put it in and see what I need to change if anything.
Going to have the C-4 gone through and fixed before putting it up for sale with the converter. Trans would be great for someone in the 600hp range just can't handle the torque the engine is making.

I feel ya man. I've got what was supposed to be the best C4 built....The MM2 X6. Well after it ate 3rd gear on the 6th pass I had a friend do it again. It's definately better but I'm on borrowed time. Upgrading to a glide this winter

If it's got the roller bearing in the tailshaft housing ,you'll need to get a billet yoke too.

Yes the yolk is included in the sale. By the way who makes a good aluminum driveshaft reasonable priced?

Well I took the advice, and took the plunge. Empty First weekend with new glide

Post  514Fox87 October 14th 2012, 9:02 pm

Just got back from the first race with the new glide in the car. I am excited! One pass I was only .01 off of my best 60ft. with the C-4. Other passes I was in the 1.38-1.39 range but still spinning. Track prep stinks! Air was about 1100 above sea level and our track is only 15' above sea level. Car ran consistent low 9.40's and my lights were .020-.040 range most of the day. Lost 4th round because I ran a 9.415 on a 9.42 dial and just took to much of the stripe. Next weekend we are off to MIR and should see some 20's there if not teens!

Like I've said on here before, with the correct setup I have never seen a car slow down with a glide no matter what power level or weight. Congrats!
