Apple cider vinegar is good relief for it along with concentrated cherry juice and vicodin or morphine...

Sex is good therapy too. Told him that the other day, hoped it helped perk him up. There is a drug available to help control gout, a buddy of mine takes it, has some nasty side effects though.
