Mufflers or Not?

I looked through the old posts and couldn't find what I was lookin for. I'm gettin closer to completing my Torino and was wondering how many guys are running mufflers. If so , what mufflers do u prefer. Thanks .

unless you want the added weight I say no. If you to the magnaflow race mufflers seem to offer the best performance and amount of sound dampening.....which aint much.

rules ....run a vibrant ...if not pick a flow thru design

he wont be running a class that requires um. Its easier to see the flames come out w no pipe and stuff in the way......

3.5" magnaflows only cost me 5 hp at 900hp...
plus the sound GREAT!

I run 4"Magnaflow Race mufflers only because my Dr. told me too because of my hearing loss. It quieted it down quite a bit,don't know about perf. I doubt I will see much diff. if any.

I really like the sound - and it is alot better on what little hearing i have left........designed the chassis to run 3-1/2" Magnaflows, turnouts just before the rear tires. It sure has a unique sound compared to open pipes.

I'm putting some 3 1/2" magnaflows on my Mustang with Project Cheap Skate in it...... I'm sick of the noise.

I get more hearing loss from all the air tools and stuff at work...... with the collectors coming out the fenders, helmet on....... it aint loud at all in the car.......

Yeh...I noticed WAY less noise in the car when the collectors exit the fenders. When the collectors were under the floor, I used to stuff in earplugs before the helmet went on. Not necessary now.

I used to run Borlas on my 514 in the dragster. If they weren't so heavy, I'd still run them. You'd be surprised what you can hear with the mufflers.

I put dynomax bullets on my car. So far I like them. Nice idle but not to bad with my helmet on in the car.

I have the shorty speedway mufflers they not much to them but the do help with the high picth sound from the headers

Those Borla's have a nice deep tone to them.I like them

I agree Jon,I wanted to get my headers exited out the fenders this winter,but it didn't happen.

Ive been debating putting the 3.5 MF's back on the sb car, gotta get the motor back together first.

Best muffler made!!

I put aluminum vibrants on my car, with 4 foot of 3.5 inch aluminum pipe to get them to the rear. The only weigh 11 pounds total.
