Is it ok to make small dents in the primaries to allow a steering shaft to clear ? It would maybe be a 1/8 of a inch. Looking for options before I do anything.

Prolly not ideal thing, but I've never owned a set that wasn't dented somewhere.

I ran into this too, If this is on your 79, look at the rubber covered plate that slides over the steering column and fastens to the fire wall, I replaced that piece with a piece of 1/4 aluminum cut a whole in it for the steering coulumn , this gained me about an inch of clearance ..... just a thought

Thanks Hookin78, will look at that , if that works it would be great. I was even thinking of lifting the body another inch but didnt really want to do that.
