Hi guys! I have a an issue with 2nd to 3rd shift. My question is after making 4 passes in about an hour and half the last pass had an issue making 2nd to 3rd shift it was really lazy going into 3rd. Do you think that the tranny oil temp could be the problem or is there a tranny issue. I don't have a tranny temp guage so I don't know the temp of the tranny. I never ran that many passes in that short of time. If more info is needed let me know, Thanks Aaron

What vb are you running brand TB or MVB. ?
Which servo ?
how large of a cooler and how deep is the trans pan?
How old is the trans ?
Band adjustment ?
Fluid type ?
what size and how old is the converter diameter and stall speed ?

Really sounds like direct clutch pack burned up !

I use type F tranny fluid
converter has under 50 passes
I have a deep truck pan on it
I don't know what servo is in it
Stock valve body
the band was adjusted about 30 passes ago when I had the tranny apart to check it over.
I don't know what kind of cooler is on it, it looks like it's from transport truck.
Think I should try a different cooler and give it a try.

Sounds like direct clutch is burned up ! How much hp and how old is trans or how many passes are on it ?

around 750hp, maybe 40 passes on it.

I know my stock c6 and stock vb with b&m shift kit wouldn't hold it flared up real bad on 2nd to 3rd shift with the 552 it should be a good 700 to 750hp engine. It held great behind the 460 making over 500hp but 700 to 750 on a stock trans is pushing it limits the way I see it.

5 on 5 clutch packs with a good servo and a Frank Merkl valve body or a manual valve body from Jay at Broader Performance. deep pan and large trans cooler. that's just my two cent! good luck

Sorry for taking so long to post my findings, I pulled the pan on my C6 today and there was a layer of black at the bottom of the pan. I guess the tranny is coming out. Thanks for the help. Aaron

See how you go. The stock 3 clutches and VB need fixing. Stick some pics up, a few improvements and back together will be sweet . Need 5 clutches and a good valvebody

I have bought several 1000 dollars worth of parts from him with no issues ! I am currently running one of his valve bodies .very good person to deal with
