The traction goop used most way back then was most likely VHT, it's been around forever. Around here in the 1980's a number of guys street racing liked the Moroso Moose Juice goop because it seemed to work well cold with little burnout.

Very cool. That's when men were men and fast cars were crude by today's standards.

Been there in the 1970s, we raced Kaukana, and Union Grove. Water boxes were seldom waterd well. We used to run 50/50 bleach water and dump our own to warm em up.

Really cool seeing the footage of Arnie Beswick at the Grove, I got to meet him a couple months ago while at Byron through Rich. He was very down to earth and nice guy. Also interesting seeing the dragster from "The Hotrod Shop" down in Rockford, the owner is also a good guy to talk to and a straight shooter.
