***UPDATE*** picking up another stock 460 engine

all ready have a c8ve block but found a dove-a 2 blot engine with some d something heads minus intake 100 bucks ...will see what I have got myself into about 5pm.

well tore the engine down... block and heads look great.

only thing I found were 2 pistons had broken compression rings...what causes this?

and if I were to ever reuse the valve train,pistons and rods, should I keep the pieces in order of disassembly?

other than that its off to the machine shop soon for a bath, mag and sonic to get the real scoop.

I would keep em in order, but check those pistons close, I'd bet some have cracked skirts!!!
