Any msd digital ignition pretty much. Most use either the grid or 7531. We use the fuel injection to do all that but we primarily do cnp ignition setups.

on the sb car I have a plate and just a single stage retard box, we run the base low ( just has to do a burnout and come up on the brake) and yank it all at the hit...... works good.

The bb car I use a msd 8 plus box that a 7531 controls, i pull for each stage and ramp the timing out....... i pull a good bit on both kits and yanking it all at once really knocks the wind out of the sails.

a 7531 is pretty easy to find used as most are using grids now.

Well unless things change my plate only goes to 250 I'd like to run a controller just so I don't blow tires off on hit so that's why I'm wondering how to retard the timing best on the cheap if I can

Progressive controller work great and are easy to use. The ignition boxes can offer some control but many find it more complicated.. SJ
