NOS Purge Kits....

A comment followed by a question, the last purge kit I installed I pointed the purge lines to purge through the rad usable cooling (street car). I had experienced a race where the typical window direction purge off of the hood ended with a lost round when the purge valve stuck open and emptied a bottle or two onto the windshield creating a vision impairment with an icy windshield and a early exit from the event. Now for the question, it appears to me that most of the time when a solenoid fails it sticks open, is anyone running backup solenoids inline for an electrical backup, or a separate shutoff for the solenoids:?:

I have a singe -8 feeding an Induction Solutions tree at the firewall, i just use a single nos powershot noid right on the end of the tree for the purge. I bang the kits through the motor to get the liquid to the noids, the purge is just to set the bottle pressure and to bleed the system down after the pass. I use a 1/4 turn valve by the shifter to open and close the system.

also if your purge is directed "up", if it ever gets water in it by washing, rain etc it can run downinto the noid and cause rust.....
